health organizations, activities, and communities. The National Public Health
Performance Standards (NPHPS) uses the essential services as a metric to assess
public health systems’ performance.
In this
Assignment, you use the essential public health services to assess how you and
your agency are addressing these components of public health.
To
prepare:
Consider
the essential public health services and core functions (assessment, policy
development, and assurance), as well as the focus of work at your agency.
Select at
least one essential public health service from each core function (a
minimum of three services total).
By Day 7
of Week 7
Submit a
3- to 5-page paper that assesses how the agency of your practicum addresses
essential services.
