Virgin Mobile pricing options or Grants and Tax Credits

Option 1 

Read the Virgin Mobile USA article. If you were the CEO of Virgin Mobile, which one of the three pricing options would you choose and why? Explain your rationale. Your goal is to choose an option without considering the actual choice of Virgin Mobile or its consequences. The choices are: 1) clone the industry prices, 2) price below the competition and 3) a whole new plan. 

Option 2 - Choose one of the following

a) Grants - Explore the  government’s website, Grants.Gov.
Think of a project, product, or service of interest to you and your company. Identify a grant (current or prior) that could provide the needed funding. You will notice that many grants have applicant restrictions (for example, only school systems can apply). However, for the purposes of this exercise, disregard any stated restrictions. Describe the following; your project and the amount of funding you would seek, the nature or type of grant you would secure, what restrictions or special requirements the grant has, and reflect on whether or not grants could prove to be a viable option for your company.

b) Tax Credits -  Read the Tesla article. If your company utilizes local, state, and/or federal tax credits, tell us about those experiences. What have the credits enabled your company to do that might otherwise not have happened. If your company does not currently use tax credits and you think this may be an untapped resource, tell us how you might pitch their use to senior management. Include why you believe they will benefit your company and any hurdles you foresee.
