Discussion 1

Input and Output

Input and Output are necessary functions with any code. Java's Input/Output (I/O) facilities are based on streams, which provide simple ways to read and write data of different types. Java provides many different kinds of streams, each with its own application (O’Reilly, 2006). Define I/O and identify the various ways Java manages streams. Remember, a stream is a flow of data (input/output), and input is not just from your keyboard and can be from a file or database. You can use examples for any situation or device.

Your initial post should be a minimum of 250 words.

Guided Response: Review several of your peers’ posts. Respond to at least two of your peers. Provide recommendations to extend your peers thoughts on the various ways Java manages streams. Did your peers fully describe the various I/O input and output stream methods?
