For this Assignment, you will create a proposal for your final project detailing the process you intend to follow for your Unit 9 Assignment. This proposal will be in a PowerPoint format and will include some of the general education elements of the Liberal Studies degree outcomes for an interdisciplinary approach.

Two of the general education outcomes for the program are communication and technology, so the use of a PowerPoint presentation should include writing and visual decisions regarding the successful strategies of both communicating by the presentation and using technology.

Before starting the Assignment, review the Unit 3 Learning Activity and the unit Reading on choosing a topic, narrowing the topic, thesis development, effective PowerPoint presentations, and other information on the writing process.

In the Reading, you explored how the scientific method can be used as a model for conducting research on your topic. Review the scientific method process for help with the proposal elements.

Keeping the scientific method process in mind, create a proposal for completing your Unit 9 Assignment to be presented in a PowerPoint format. The PowerPoint should include at least one slide per heading. The tasks/headings to include in your proposal are:

1. Title page slide

2. Project topic

3. Explain why you chose this topic (relevancy to your chosen career, future areas of study, interest in the topic, etc.)

4. Draft thesis (the main point of the research paper)

5. Review of preliminary research into the topic

6. Narrowing the topic and finalizing the thesis

7. Continued research (explain your plan to find the necessary information)

8. Outline

9. First-half draft

10. Second-half draft

11. Revising stage

12. Peer review

13. Final research paper

14. References slide

The PowerPoint topic proposal needs to include for each step:

1. How you will approach each step of the process

2. Your deadlines for each step

3. Any notes that will help you stay on track

4. Any ideas you have to complete each step

Submitting Your Assignment

Create your Assignment as a PowerPoint template. Save it in a location and with a name that you will remember. When you are ready to submit it, click on the Dropbox and complete the steps below:

1. Click the link that says “Submit an Assignment.”

2. In the “Submit to Basket” menu, select Unit 3: Assignment Dropbox.

3. In the “Comments” field, include at least the title of your paper.

4. Click the “Add Attachments” button.

5. Follow the steps listed to attach your Word document.

6. To view your graded work, come back to the Dropbox or go to the Gradebook after your instructor has evaluated it.

Make sure that you save a copy of your submitted Assignment.
