LI 499 Unit 2 Assignment

Unit 2 Assignment

Before completing the Unit 2 Assignment, review the Unit 2 Reading, which includes the Kaplan Library Tutorial, the research quiz, and the Unit 2 Learning Activity on assessing the credibility of sources.

Reflect on your chosen electives for the liberal studies program individualized learning plan (ILP). It may be helpful to go back through your degree plan to remind yourself of the electives taken and their titles.

Then, find three articles in the KU Library related to a career of your choice and incorporate three general education topics in your search (see the eight general education topics of your liberal studies program in the Reading) and relate to your chosen program specific interests (the elective classes you have taken throughout your degree program).

For example, your program specific career is leadership in business and the general education topic is communication. Find an article on effective communication for leaders. Another example: If your program specific career is teaching and the general education topic is technology, find an article on new ways of teaching through the latest technology.

Your Assignment should be 2–4 pages (not including the title page and a reference page).

For EACH of the three articles, answer the questions below:

1. What are the program specific career topic AND the general education topic you researched?

2. Provide a full APA reference (author(s), date, title, and publishing information). Identify the type of resource (book, scholarly journal, primary source, etc.), and a brief summary of the resource and why you think it addresses your topics.

3. Comment on your perception of the credibility of the source and the information provided using the information in the Unit 2 Learning Activity.

This Assignment is assessed by the following course level outcome:

LI499-1: Occupational Specialization: Apply program-specific interests and general education knowledge to the development of an approved individualized degree plan designed for a specific career or professional occupation.
