Prepare and deliver a 5-minute supporting
one-point presentation on a topic of your choice related to the IT profession.
Write a preparation outline based on the
University of Phoenix Material: Supporting One-Point Outline.
Choose three types of supporting materials to
support your point.
Develop a 7-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation
to highlight the supporting material (your presentation shoul include 1 slide
for the cover slide, 1 for the agenda or objective slide, 3 body slides, 1
conclusion slide, and 1 refence slide. This requires research and supporting
material. This assignment stresses audience analysis and adaptation.
Deliver a 5-minute supporting one-point
presentation based on your outline.

Use the outline
to help you prepare your presentation.
Begin by
selecting a point of view you want to support. Think about the audience for
your presentation. What do you know about the audience that might help you
select supporting material?

Go to Ch. 7 of Public Speaking and review
the different types of supporting material. Then, using Ch. 14, select the
appropriate supporting materials. You might, for example, select extended
example, statistics, and testimony. Arrange your supporting material in order
of strength; the strongest must be Supporting Point 3.
Develop a
conclusion that leaves the audience at a high point. Write the final sentences
of the conclusion and add to the outline. Write an introduction that grabs the audience’s
attention. Write the first two sentences and add to the outline.
