PSY 140 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION
As we consider consciousness, it can add depth to our conversation to consider what we consider to be 'mental noise' and how that differs from consciousness.
In our culture we are often bombarded with sensory overload and information. We have developed a habit of nurturing racing thoughts and our minds jumping from one thought to another with little awareness for the moment. Often exercises such as relaxation and mediation seem to relax this mental noise.
In these circumstances.....have we altered our consciousness....or simply fostered awareness, or both? What are your thoughts?
