HIS 381 Week 4 Assignment Help | Wilmington University
Week 4 Reflection
REFLECTIVE WRITING= You are to write up a 150 word summary of both what you learned
from my master notes/ power points from this week. DO NOT reflect on
the articles you had to read. Be sure to include an in-text (NO QUOTES ALLOWED) APA citation from an outside source
that you researched on the Internet on the topic with a full reference
(not just a web address) at the end. Avoid Wikipedia and
encyclopedias. THE REFLECTION MUST BE AT LEAST 85% FROM MY MASTER NOTES/
POWER POINTS- NOT MOSTLY FROM THE OUTSIDE SOURCE
Example of
Reflective Writing from the Weekly Instructor Notes & Power Points
This week we learned about the Middle Ages
and Renaissance. The notes included many topics, but what interested me was the
“values” in the societies. But, it is hard to talk about values when the
subject is a culture that embraced slavery, and domination over other creatures
(not even just other people). In a matter of beliefs individualism is
noteworthy, blind servitude to the church and the wealthy on a power position,
are just some of the qualifications that we still have from the Middle Ages.
The recognition of all the religious differences, and how people are willing to
fight and die for that idea, which at the end is just that …an idea, people’s
faith. It is also worthwhile to elaborate on the lower-class stagnation on
their position. Unfortunately, just like
the Middle Ages, today a person is somewhat stuck in a position of
poverty, being very hard to get out of that cycle. On that time, a slave or a
serf would have a chance in a life time (if so) to become a knight, and that
would only happen in a severe case of shortage in the castle protection (Smith,
2006). Today is somewhat the same, a person who’s born in a poor family may
have an opportunity in a university and drown themselves in debt, or they could
just be a genius, but again this is a once in a lifetime situation. Thus, unfortunately
this century is making the same mistake. The notes and power point on the
Renaissance at least gave people more freedom in the arts in order to escape
the drudgeries of life. DaVinci,
Michelangelo, and others served as an inspiration.
