Reply to at least 2 of your classmates, explaining whether the request is clear and complete enough for you to understand how to implement the request if you were a programmer at VitalSource. Has your colleague described the situation(s) in which the new feature should work? How the feature should work? What the program should do if the feature does not/cannot work in a given instance? If your colleague's request is not clear or complete, explain what information is lacking. Be constructive and professional in your responses ***Please respond to the following*** 1) The VitalSource application that is used at the University of Phoenix gives access to a great amount of information or library application that students can access at home or work letting students read faster and open the learning cycle anywhere or any time. It is a good application there is always improvements that will be added to all systems. Sometimes company’s quality insurance misses issue that costumers find after they use the software at a later date. One feature that could be added is the choices of voices that read outload to costumers. The main voice is lacking excitement and after hours of listening to the voice will put you to sleep. The second feature is the lack of application features like podcast or tablet access. It is hard to see on phone and mobile devices. Sometimes the software is not made for mobile device verses desktop computers. The back ground on VitalSource is very dark and is very confusing to read at night. I work late nights and is the best time for me to do reads and homework. Maybe the programmers can problem more choices to the back ground colors and font. For me I not a good reader by listening to the articles we would have the best choice of understanding large amounts of data.
2) When we are using the VitalSource application to review the course weekly reading, we found it to be a little bit challenging to search for topics, key word or phases. The search feature is basic and seems to be very limited in it search functions. If the search function found relevant information on the searched material and identified its chapter, page number and related information to support the search request, this would help the user greatly. Another feature should be looked at is the readers voice. The feature is very robotic sounding and over a short period of time the audience loses interest in the reading. A recommendation for this problem is having a professional reader to record the reading material. This will provide the listeners with a reading that has emotion to its content, which will make the material more enjoyable if possible. The VitalSource is a great application and tool for students to use during their enrollment to help them better understand the course material, but like all things created there is always room for improvement.
