INTERNSHIP PROJECT (5 – 8 pages) You are required to complete a work project or report at the end of your internship. Some employers may have a specific project they wish you to focus on; others might have suggested industry topic for you to study. Regardless, be sure to share this internship requirement with your supervisor by the mid-term evaluation. Components of the Project: 1. Description of your placement: Provide general information about the company (company name/ industry/size/amount of staff/your position title/your supervisor's role) 2. Summary of experience: Provide an overview of your internship position. For example, describe your responsibilities, daily activities, how often you interacted with your supervisor, key company goals or objectives and your role in relation) 3. Reflection: (min. 3 pages) a. What did you learn about yourself? b. What areas did you experience the most professional growth. Provide examples and list your accomplishments? What insight did you gain in relation to your PDD program? d. Were you able to apply any of your academic knowledge and if so how? e. Research or Consultative Project: The research or consultative project is to be established by your supervisor and should be valuable to you in terms of skill building or as a portfolio piece that you can speak to. Suggestions include, but are not limited to: a. A training document that may be used to support future employees who may be performing the same job as you b. Research or complete a SWOT analysis on a new initiative your supervisor/company is wanting to launch c. Create a consultative report that utilizes your academic knowledge. For example, drawing on your studies in BUS 360 or BUS 380, analyze the organizational culture or intercultural dimensions of the company and make recommendations on implementing specific strategies
