Discussion 2
MIS Reflection Activity
MIS Reflection
Now that you have been introduced to the world of Management Information Systems, it is time to reflect back on the concepts and topics presented in this course. The purpose of this activity is to give you an opportunity to present your overall understanding of how MIS solutions impact and assist businesses in their day-to-day operations, decision-making, and planning. Your fellow students, while not obliged to do so, will be able to review your data and post comments in responses as in the other discussion assignments.
Reflect and Engage
For this activity, select a management information system that you feel has greatly impacted or assisted business processes during your employment. Compose a 100-150-word paragraph and present data that specifically explains how the implemented solution has contributed to a higher level of efficiency, increased profits, or other evaluating metric. Another approach that you can take is to explain where a solution could have been implemented in your present or a past workplace, pointing out issues or shortcomings that could have been reduced or eliminated through the implementation of an MIS.
If you choose to do so, you can post an additional paragraph or two at the conclusion of your post to express your opinions and specific thoughts on how well the course syllabus, textbook, assignment overviews, and assignments prepared you for the Final Exam. You might comment on how the course has enlightened you and will enable you to successfully progress in your career. Your critiques and comments will be publicly visible and available for review by your instructor and fellow students, who may join in the discussion and add their thoughts or post questions.
This activity is evaluated as Complete/Incomplete. There is no rubric for this activity nor does it count toward your final grade.
