Principles of Marketing

Task:
You are the Head of Advertising for ABC Company (create your own company name).  Your company sells fashionable clothes in the mid-to-upper price range to (females OR males, you decide, but your target market can only be one of the sexes, not both) ages 15-30 (OR ages 45-55).
Your company wants to capitalize on the concepts of database marketing and direct response marketing.  Design a newspaper advertisement that encourages people in the company’s target market (ie. Females 15-30; or Females 45-55; or Males 15-30; or Males 45-55) to visit the retail store and join your company’s database program.
In addition, design a direct mail piece that would go out to individuals who are currently in their database but have not made a purchase within the last 3 months.
Design an email that can be sent out to members in the database on the person’s birthday offering them a free meal at a local restaurant.  All they have to do is come to the store to pick up the meal voucher.  This promotion is a joint promotion with the restaurant, which shares in the cost of the promotion.  Thus, the restaurant must also be part of the e-mail letter.
You must create all 3 of these promotional items listed above (a newspaper ad, a direct mail piece, and an e-mail).  Be creative.  You need to create a company name and logo.  The logo could be one you find online or one you create yourself; the same thing is true for the restaurant.  Keep your target market in mind when building your promotional ads.
Your assignment should also include at least one paragraph for each ad/piece describing why you created the ad the way you did.  You can use Word, PowerPoint, a PDF, or Publisher.
You must source/reference any photos, artwork, graphics, etc. you use for your assignment. An example of this assignment will be provided to you as a sample.
