From Hesiod onwards, ideologies about gender roles and hierarchies have underpinned the myths in our course readings. In particular, the myths emphasize a certain female archetype. Briefly describe this archetype and its origins in Greek myth, and then choose three texts and discuss how their authors either reinforce or challenge this archetype in their presentation of female protagonists.
