Topic: How and Why Drugs Work
Prompt: Research a drug that is highly abused in your geographic area and/or job or research a drug that is a general area of interest to you. Discuss psychological and physical dependence to the drug. Who abuses the drug? What factors have contributed to its abuse? What are the effects on individuals, families, and the community that have resulted from the abuse? What strategies have been put in place to reduce the abuse? Are they working? Include any additional comments or concerns related to the drug.
Replies: Reply to 2 different classmates who have written about 2 different drugs that are abused. Compare and contrast common themes and issues from your experience and/or community. What issues related to the abuse have resulted in similar outcomes? What issues related to the abuse have resulted in different outcomes?
Discussion Board Forum Instructions
You are required to participate in 6Discussion Board Forums throughout this course. Each forum includes 2parts: your thread of at least 400 words, which answers the discussion prompt and includes Scripture/biblical references and experience, and your reply to 2classmates’ threads, which mustbe at least 200 words each.
It is expected that respect and sensitivity toward varying opinions and ideas will be demonstrated. While you are only required to post 2 replies to your classmates, it is expected thatyou will also replyto all questions posted by your instructor and/or classmates in your thread.
Title the subject line of replies as “Reply to John Smith” or “Reply to Jane Doe” so that it will be clear to whom you are replying. Note that repliessuch as “I like what you said,” “That’s a good point,” and “I disagree with your comment” do not count as complete replies.Instead, add substantial supporting thoughts or ideas to elucidate why you agreed with the post or provide alternative ideas and thoughts to demonstrate why you disagreed.
As one of the goals of Discussion BoardForums is to encourage student community learning, not every thread will have a replyfrom the instructor. Rather, the instructor will replyto a few threads in a way that adds to the conversation, asks pertinent questions, or summarizes some of the key points made by the students. All materials used must be paraphrased or summarized and not directly quoted.
Submit your thread by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned modules/weeks and submit your replies by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the same modules/weeks.
