Aim:
Exhibit an understanding of career theory, planning, and management
Task:
Following the completion of the Employability Development Profile, and an examination of the ‘employability’ scenarios about problem solving, team work and cross cultural competency, students will reflect on their skills, and skill development, in the context of career planning and career management. Career Development Theory is then explored to reveal how theory is applied to the career planning and career management processes.
Students are required to complete a 500-word opinion piece which integrates knowledge of ‘employability’ skill development with career development theory and proffer an explanation about the theory which best explains a personal approach to career planning and career management.
The parts to this assessment are as follows:
Part 1: Complete the Employment Development Profile (EDP).
Part 2: Examine ‘employability’ scenarios for the skills of: problem solving, team work, cross-cultural competency.
Part 3: Explore Career Development Theory and Reflective Thinking and Writing.
