Each student who chooses to learn more by doing this assignment is to
- Select one or more areas of technology
- Succinctly but including an executive summary:
- Forecast how the chosen area(s) of technology will develop in the next five years, supporting his or her work by the application of appropriate forecasting methods and data gathered from online or other research.
- Critically assess what its development will mean for business and other organizational (e.g., public agency and non-profit organization) models that use the chosen area(s) of technology.
- Decide whether technology leadership or followership is appropriate for his or her own organization or family in the chosen area(s) of technology

For this enrichment opportunity if elected, you will
- Choose a particular technology area and:
- Predict how it will develop in the next five years, ie, through 2022
- Assess what its development will mean for business and other organizational (eg, public agency and non-profit organization) models that use this area of technology.
- Identify whether a leadership or followership role will be appropriate for your own organization in this area of technology.
See the topic in Content/Week 9 for technology areas from which - among possibly others - to choose. Also consider the articles following in this topic for possible choices of technology for which to predict.
You are invited to forecast any area of technology that may be of interest to you.
Your predictions should be succinct - ~two pages in length - and preceded by an executive summary of ~0.5 page containing the key results.
Collectively you will be reminded that there are many areas of technology in which advances will affect business and other organizations -- and that information technology (IT), in particular, is only one of them.
