Part 2: (LASA Evaluation)
The outline is a crucial component of the speech planning process. Based on the feedback you received on the topic and subtopics you submitted in Module 2, write an outline for your informative speech and submit it to the M3 Assignment 2 Dropbox by Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Use the outline template for creating your outline (The information about visual aids is there just as a reminder that you need to start thinking about how you will use visual aids in your speeches).
- The template contains areas where you must list your speech title, its general purpose, and its specific purpose.
- Note briefly how your speech content is tailored to audience considerations. Discuss what information you possess about the audience’s level of knowledge about your topic. Describe any other information about the audience you need in order to give an informative speech that keeps the audience interested and involved.
- Identify barriers to active listening and discuss two strategies you will use to overcome them when delivering your speech.
- Outline the speech. You will begin by outlining your introduction. Let us know what your attention-getting statement is, what your credibility for your speech is, what the relevancy for the topic is, and what the central idea of the speech is. You will also outline the body of the speech. This will break the speech up into three main points with supporting information and details. In the conclusion of the speech, you will summarize your main points for us and close with a memorable statement.
- Provide a References section. Your Informative Speech Outline should reference at least three sources, two of which should come from the Argosy University Online Library.
- Read relevant sections from your textbook for more information about good outlining technique.
