PROJECT 1

Colour Run Finish Festival

About The Color Run:

The Color Run, the world’s first COLOR 5k™ event, was founded in March 2011 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”. The Color Run is the original paint race and has created a completely new genre of COLOR DASH™ running events that continues to grow exponentially. Now the single largest event series in the world, The Color Run has exploded since their debut event. The event has more than exceeded the expected , now hosting events in over 200 cities and 40 countries every year.

After Color Runners complete the race, the fun continues with an unforgettable Finish Festival. This larger than life party is equipped with music, dancing and massive color throws, which create millions of vivid color combinations.

The Color Run website, available at, https://thecolorrun.co.za/about/, provides information about the previous events and exhibits of how The Color Run event looks like.

About The Color Finish Festival:

The following year’s Finish Festival is scheduled to take place at a bigger venue, such as the size of the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg or Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. The following factors should be considered when planning the project:

  • Stage, stage décor and lights, music equipment etc.;
  • DJ, MCs and speakers;
  • Line-up of artists (local);
  • Food and beverages kiosks and catering for staff and guests;
  • Security (stage, entrance and venue);
  • Cleaners, waste disposal points, toilets and ablution facilities.

The following is part of the scope of the project:

  • You will be responsible for the coordination and project management of the Finish Festival.

The guidelines for hosting a music festival are available on Mashall Music website at: https://www.marshallmusic.co.za/planning-a-successful-music-festival/. Use as much information as possible to finalise the following information about planning the Finish Festival:

  • Layout and stage;
  • The facilities;
  • Food and drinks;
  • Contingency plans;
  • Booking acts;
  • Physical work;
  • Staff of the day;
