After analyzing and evaluating historical, theoretical and practice the next step in our exploration of leadership is your individual translation of historical views using critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis.
Choose a leader that had a positive influence in history and whose concepts can be migrated forward so that they have a degree of applicability in your professional endeavors. Synthesize the ideas to suggest opportunities for their use in your career and scholarly research.
Create a 10- to 12-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation in the following format:
Four to six bullet points per slide
Bullet points in the form of descriptive narrative style
Internal citations to bullet points
Speaker notes in full sentences
Reference slide with a minimum of four sources
Include the following in your presentation:
Provide the historical context of your leader.
Explain what characteristics make him or her a good leader and how he or she fits within the historical context.
Describe the leadership actions he or she took.
Explain how this leader employed transactional and/.or transformational leadership to inspire and mobilize others.
Synthesize two leadership behaviors that you would like to develop, and abductively justify your reasoning. Note: Click the Types of Reasoning tab on the SAS Central: Critical Thinking page for more information on abductive reasoning.
Include images and references in your presentation to support your presentation. References should be peer-reviewed articles, journals, and scholarly literature located in the University Library.
Format your presentation consistent with APA guidelines.
