In a Microsoft Word document spanning no less than 3 and no more than 5 pages:
1. Compare and contrast the relevant factors of Finland, Japan, and Peru to identify one
country among them that the U.S.-based Strayercorp, a hypothetical Multinational
Corporation (MNC) that manufactures gadgets, should expand to.
2. Explain why the country that you have identified offers the best short- and long-term
opportunities to the MNC and how being there can facilitate the MNC- global
expansion efforts further.
3. Identify the resources and opportunities that are available to MNCs such as
Strayercorp in the US and that country and share how the MNC can take advantage of
those resources and opportunities to facilitate its expansion to that country.
Objectives and Expectations
Your objectives when contemplating and composing this paper should be to demonstrate a)
learning and mastery of the material covered in ITB405; and, b) the ability to conduct research
via academically valid sources and compose a concise professional report.
Your research should draw from at least three quality sources.
The entire papers must follow the APA style as explained in the Publication Manual of the
American Psychological Association, 6th Edition.
The 3-5 page limit refers to the "body" of the paper and does not include the title page, the
References section, etc.
Please identify each question before answering it.
Without exception submissions beyond the deadline and in formats other than Microsoft Word
will not be considered.
Students are responsible for verifying that their submissions are posted properly and are readable
immediately after posting them. Files which cannot be opened cannot serve as placeholders.
Third-party analysis and conclusion (an analysis and/or plan that is not the product of your own
critical thinking) will negatively affect the grade.

A paper that does not clearly identify and credit ALL of its sources will not be considered.
This optional extra credit assignment can earn up to 46 points.
At the conclusion of the course, any point earned for this extra credit assignment will be added to
the cumulative points that the student earns for Weeks One through Eleven. The student- final
letter grade will concur with that sum divided by the 920 points which are available in the
course.

Notes
. This assignment is optional. It does not replace missing assignments and the decision to attempt
it rests entirely with you.
. Focus on answering the questions thoroughly but concisely.
. Focus solely from the international business perspective. In other words, avoid diversions and
irrelevancies such as the ways and means of marketing products, evaluating distribution systems,
etc.
. All facts must be substantiated and all suppositions must be fact-based. For quality research and
optimal grade, you are encouraged to seek and explore valid sources via the University-
Resource Center and its databases. Also see the resources/links that I have shared throughout the
term.
. This paper requires critical thinking and analysis and expression of original ideas in your own
words. Third party quotations and analyses will detract from the substance and should be
avoided but if at all necessary, then that information must be clearly identified and properly
credited to its source. Further, again, if at all necessary to include them, quotations should be
limited to less than 5% of the paper.
. The above should sufficiently enable you to complete this extra credit assignment successfully.
The required background information has already been covered in the course- material and
weekly modules, and the expectations echo what has already been explained throughout the term
in messages and feedbacks. In fairness to those who have been following that information, there
will be no further explanation beyond what appears here.
