From the end of World War 2 until the collapse of the Soviet Union, it could be argued that the United States saw communism as its greatest enemy. With communism no longer a threat, what has replaced it as the greatest threat of the US? Is this threat internal--such as school shooters, corruption in politics, or racism-- or is the threat external, such as the global spread of disease or terrorism? Explain what you see as the new great threat to the country, how you see this treat currently affecting the United States, and what you fear about this threat if it is not contained.
