Vietnam War

This week you will be comparing what has been written about a historical event with someone's personal experiences of the event.

1. Select one of the following topics for this week's assignment:

    Assisination of President Kennedy
    Vietnam War
    Civil Rights Movement

2. Obtain an overview of the key events surrounding this topic through videos and/or readings. Be sure to find credible sources, and be prepared to cite the sources in your paper. Your overview should answer the five W's:

    Who
    What
    Where
    When
    Why

3. Interview someone who was an adult during this time period regarding your topic. Be sure to address the following points in your interview:

    Who is the person being interviewed?
    What role did the person play in the event (e.g. citizen, military personnel, activist)?
    Where was the person when the event took place (e.g., watched it on TV, Vietnam, jail)?
    When was the person involved in the event (e.g., when it was on TV, 1963-65, end of the movement)?

3. How does what you learned in the interview support and/or contradict what you had previously learned about the topic?

 

 Citations and references should be properly cited in APA format (6th edition). Please consult the grading rubric.
