Marketing plan for Nokia in India Here is my topic in detail
Nokia is a globally recognized brand and technology is growing fast in India. This is causing the cellular phone- popularity to grow there. Nokia already has a very strong presence in India; however there is more to be tapped. Even though it is well placed and has good market share due to its fast moving advantage and good quality performance, over the years it has been losing in share and revenues because of cheaper substitutes that have flooded the market.
Though it has tried to compete with cheaper models, its more loyal customers are in the middle income group and they look for price as well as features. Thus we see an opportunity for the brand to leverage its strong image by adding more features which these customers are looking for. Hence Nokia can add on reliable features like dust resistance, water resistance, stronger metallic body frames, and screen guards to satisfy these needs and be the ultimate choice among these consumers. This is because even though they are buying cheaper cellular phones, they are well aware of their limitations, poor performance, and lack of reliability but their hands are tied and budget constraints pressure them to move toward such vendors.
Hence Nokia making such a move would address all problems and help it tap the global mobile phone market in which it is already competing in. However it needs to make more features available which are not costly or new in development.
