A number of non-industrialized nations have had a major disaster in the last 20 years.  Select any country (other than your SLP country)  fitting this description.

Describe the type of disaster, the area involved, and the affected population.  

What injuries/health problems occurred as a were the direct result of the impact? What were the secondary contributors to morbidity and mortality? Did international aid organizations provide assistance?  What did it consist of? Did the disaster result in displaced persons or refugees? Has the affected area recovered/regained equilibrium? Why or why not? What major problems have been encountered (Use research articles published about this disaster in ProQuest to support your answers)

Use of peer-reviewed articles is required. Websites as references should be minimal. 
Additional expectations for the assignment:

1.  Your references and citations should be consistent with a particular formatting style, such as APA.

2.  Your response should be based on scholarly material, such as peer-reviewed articles, white papers, technical papers, etc.. Do not include information from non-scholarly materials such as Wikis, encyclopedias, www.freearticles.com (or similar websites).
