Welcome to BUS508 Contemporary Business!
Due Week 1 and worth 10 points
Congratulations in starting your master- program here at Strayer University! This is a great decision and we want to support you from day one. Therefore, we have created this activity to show you some of the tools you will need to be successful in your courses. This activity is due at the end of Week 1 and is worth 10 points. Once again, we wish you the best!
There are seven (7) steps to complete the scavenger hunt. You must complete all of them to receive credit for this assignment.
Let- get started. Good luck, and have fun!
STEP 1: Where can you find your professor- information? What is your professor- phone number? HINT: Go to Student Center tab
STEP 2: Write the name of one of your classmates, and select one thing you have found interesting about his / her background. HINT: You need to go the Class Introduction area to complete this step.
STEP 3: Go to Student Center tab and locate the Student Course Guide. Open the document and respond: How many assignments does this class have? What is the title of Assignment 1, and when is it due?
STEP 4: What chapters will you review during Week 3?
STEP 5: Now, go to your eBook and write down the page number where Chapter 5 starts.
STEP 6: Many of your written assignments will require that you use APA formatting guidelines. Follow these steps to locate APA resources, and then report your findings:
a. Click the Resource Center tab to access the Strayer Learning Resource Center (LRC).
b. Click the Strayer University Library search image.
c. Scroll down the page to the section titled “Research” and click the “APA Guidelines” link.
i. What is the first item in the list of hyperlinks provided for quick reference and sample works for the APA publication style?
STEP 7: Finally, go to the Research Hub link in the left menu in your course main area. Then, access the Wall Street Journal link. Follow these steps and report your findings:
d. Type the word Business in the Search box, then click the Search button
e. Then, under “Narrow results by”, adjust your criteria as follows:
i. Publication Title: Wall Street Journal (Online)
ii. Publication Date: Starting 2014 and Ending 2015
iii. What is the title of the third article in your list?
Remember, you need to write down all your answers. When you are finished, submit your scavenger hunt answers in a Word document to the assignment link located in Week 1. Contact your professor if you have any question about this activity.
