SOC 315 many policies and laws have been drafted, and some enacted, to address some of the issues discussed in this reading on social class. One such policy is affirmative action, which was designed to provide increase opportunities to those who previously had been left out with regard to workplace opportunities, and therefore, left out of American dream of upward social mobility.
Studies have, for the most part, found affirmative action as having made progress towards increasing workplace diversity.
