INTRODUCTION 

Chapter 1 discusses culture and global business. Ethnocentrism is stated as “the greatest single obstacle to understanding another culture.”  

INSTRUCTIONS

1.	Locate an article in the news or identify a personal experience at work or at school that demonstrates ethnocentrism.
2.	In the Ethnocentrism discussion forum, respond to the following:
a.	Describe it in the posting.
b.	Why do you believe that ethnocentrism caused the incident?
c.	How could the event have been handled differently?
3.	Your initial post is due by the end of the fourth day of the workshop.
4.	Read and respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings, as well as all follow-up instructor questions directed to you, by the end of the workshop.
5.	Your postings should also:
a.	Be well developed by providing clear answers with evidence of critical thinking.
b.	Add greater depth to the discussion by introducing new ideas and observations.
c.	Provide clarification to classmates’ questions and provide insight into the discussion.
d.	Be posted on three different days during the workshop.
