Just as a recipe is made up of a variety of ingredients, so is a successful experience at work. Identify the ingredients that made your job successful and describe them. 2.People just entering the business world often take the first job offered them. Now that you are more in touch with your value priorities, why not use this information to help you select that first job that will lead you toward your career and professional goals? Provide three or four questions you might want to ask a prospective employer to discover if the position you are applying for will satisfy your value needs. What help might the company- policy manual give you in determining possible values conflicts? 3.Select at least two organizations in your community and recommend dress guidelines for their employees based on the products or services offered, the type of customer served, and the image the organization wishes to project. 4.Long-term studies by Stanford Research Institute and the Gallup Organization involving more than 250,000 successful men and women indicated that each of us has a unique potential that defines our destiny. When we ignore these qualities and focus on our perceived weaknesses, we feel trapped and unhappy. Each of us can do some things well, but these talents may not be fully utilized. Identify five significant strengths and talents that you possess. If you are currently employed, indicate if these strengths and talents are used in your work. If you are not working at the present time discuss how these strengths and talents will be utilized in a future role. 5.Think about a situation in which you were unsuccessful communicating with a supervisor or co-worker, or in which you misunderstood something that person was trying to communicate to you. Identify at least two communication filters (Semantics, language and cultural barriers, emotions, attitudes, role expectations, and/or gender-specific focus ) which prevented the message from being clearly understood.
